Further consolidation in the local search / mapping space, coming in the same weeks as Apple’s use of Yelp data in their new Maps app. Great news for Yelp. Future battle-lines are becoming clearer.
it strikes me that Apple will start to introduce features like Maps and Siri onto the Mac platform at some point: as an iOS and OS X user it doesn’t seem logical to use two different mapping services, and services such as Maps and Siri require a huge investment in development and maintenance: why give revenue to away to Google?Yelp, Microsoft, Yelp, Apple
