Android users should stop the whinging and drop the ‘there’s more users on Android’ argument, and actually consider the facts about app and web usage across the different platforms, plus the complexity of developing for Android. As the BBC say in a response:
“Back in July, when we launched the Olympics app for iPhone and Android together, we saw over three times as many downloads of the iPhone version. Android continues to grow apace but this, together with the development and testing complexity, led us to the decision to phase the iOS app first.”
Seems fair enough – target the platform with the highest forecast app usage first. If that also happens to be the easiest to develop for then that just adds more weight to the decision:
