Not sure how Logitech were so blind – it was clear that Google TV, as launched, would fail. A clear case of a The Emperors New Clothes. This isn’t 20:20 hindsight – I was sure of this a year ago.

I’m even more sure now that the living room is for mainly passive consumption of content (gaming aside, but few adults have time for serious console gaming). Apps may well be part of the future of TV, but only very targeted apps such as video chat or content streaming. The very last thing most people want is a qwerty ‘remote’ and full web access on their TV.
